Once you contact us, we will schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation on telehealth or by phone to meet and discuss your needs.
Prior to this consultation, I will send you the informed consent form, a crucial document that outlines your rights as a client and my professional responsibilities. Please review this document carefully and bring any questions you may have. We will also review it together, and you must sign it before our first full session, should we decide to work together.
Furthermore, I will invite you to share, at a high level, what brings you to therapy, any goals you may have, and your previous experiences with counseling (if any), including what you found helpful or less helpful. I will also be happy to answer any questions you have about my approach or the therapy process. Following this consultation, we can then determine if scheduling a full session would be beneficial.

In order to help support you effectively and make the best use of our time together, before our first full session, I will send you some general information forms to fill out and the informed consent forms to sign.
For youth counselling, I further need an additional screening interview to be filled out either by the youth and/or the caregiver.
Our first full session is usually a bit different from subsequent sessions.
In continuation of the complementary session, we will review and ask more general questions about your background and what brings you to therapy. This information helps me understand the context of your concerns and allows us to collaboratively develop a plan that best supports your needs and goals. While this foundational work might make the first session feel a little slower, it's essential for effective therapy.
